A new tabloid report alleges that Mariah Carey and Lionel Richie are feuding over their concert tour, but the story is fake news that Gossip Cop can exclusively correct.
The two music superstars are co-headlining the All the Hits Tour, which kicks off in July. A new article in the National Enquirer alleges that advanced ticket sales have been poor, and the singer's are now blaming each other for the supposed struggle to fill seats. "Lionel thinks Mariah is the problem, and Mariah is blaming him," a so-called "insider" tells the magazine.
The outlet's dubious insider goes on to purport that both believed teaming up together "would give them a massive hit tour, but the opposite has happened." Gossip Cop, however, checked in with multiple trustworthy sources, and we're exclusively assured the magazine's report is completely untrue. A rep for Carey tells us "ticket sales are doing great," while another spokesperson for the singer assures us she's "never said an ill word against Lionel." A Richie insider also tells us the singers get along well.
It should be noted, Gossip Cop previously busted the Enquirer's sister publication, OK!, for wrongly reporting that Carey and Ritchie were feuding over which one is the "main attraction" of the tour. This also isn't the first time the Enquirer has falsely claimed that Carey was at war with another musician. We previously debunked the tabloid's tall tale about Carey feuding with Joe Jonas. This latest supposed friction is equally fabricated.
