The multi-talented Michelle Branch is a true artist. At the tender age of 9 she enrolled in voice lessons and later received her first guitar for her 14th birthday. One week later, she had already taught herself the cords and wrote her first song "Fallen." Michelle also grew up with a tremendously supporting family. Her mother and father had her homeschooled the last two years of high school to allow her to focus on her music. After graduation they helped find her gigs across Arizona where she performed covers of Fleetwood Mac, Sheryl Crow, Jewel and Lisa Loeb.
1999 saw the emergence of Michelle Branch as singer/writer when she posted two songs to the Rolling Stone website which eventually caught the attention of Hanson and former producer Jeff Rabhan, eventually leading to Michelle opening for Hanson. In 2001 she released her debut album The Spirit Room which spawned her first single Everywhere which ended up dominating the commercial scene and won her the MTV Viewers Choice Award.
