Bob Carter, the father of Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter and his younger brother Aaron, died Tuesday night in Florida.
'My heart is Completly (sic) shattered I'm in shock and I loved my dad so much. DADDY I Love You. This is the last pic I have my dad,' Aaron shared on Twitter Wednesday.

Apparently Bob, who had a rocky relationship with son Nick, was on good terms with everyon e in his family and they are grateful for that.
37-year-old Nick tweeted 'I am heartbroken to share the news that our father, Robert, passed away last night...'
'While we learn more about the cause of death, and begin the grieving process, we ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time,' he continued.
The death appeared sudden as both of his sons performed at the Wango Tango concert in Los Angeles on Saturday and were not by his side in Florida.

Aaron, 29, seemed to be taking the news quite hard, posting a second tribute to his father on Instagram, 'My heart is broken, We are so hurt we lost you poppa way too soon. You were never human to me, you were always my real life super hero.'
Nick has been estranged from both of his parents Bob and June after long-standing family fr iction and revealed in 2015, 'I haven't seen them in maybe seven or eight years.'
He made the revelation to his band mates in their documentary The Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of.

He went on to detail life before fame, 'It was a house full of fear for me. We would be little kids and we would hear mom and dad screaming at each other.'
'They'd constantly be drinking and fighting and we'd hear guns go out the window shooting. Not shooting at each other.'
'They always fought over money,' he added.
Another family tragedy: Sister Leslie (far le ft) died of a suspected prescription pill overdose in 2012, here Leslie, Aaron, Angel, Nick and Bobbie Carter are seen in a 2006 photo
Things only got worse once Nick found international success with the Backstreet Boys and Aaron found fame in his own right as a singer.
Jane managed Aaron and was accused of stealing money from him when the family sat for separate interviews with 20/20 in 2005.
'Every show we did, we would probably make about maybe $40,000, $50,000 a show. And it was all gone,' Aaron said.

While Aaron cut his mother out of his life, it appeared he kept in contact with his father Bob through the years.
Tragedy struck the family in 2012 when Nick and Aaron's sister Leslie died of a suspected prescription pill overdose.
Nick did not attend the funeral for his younger sister, who was 25 at the age of her death, telling fans he wanted to but his family 'complicates' things for him.
