What to know about the Grammy-winning pop star before she performs Friday at the McComb Fieldhouse.
If you haven't heard much about Daya yet, don't worry. You will.
The 18-year-old pop star has had a meteoric rise since 2016, dropping chart-climbing hits, releasing a debut album, embarking on her first headlining tour and recently winning a Grammy for a collaboration with The Chainsmokers. She'll also bring her catchy, empowering lyrics and bubble gum R&B sound to Edinboro University on Friday night as the college's spring concert headliner.
Here are five more things to know about the performer:
1. The basics: The 18-year-old Daya (pronounced day-uh), real name Grace Tandon, was born in Pittsburgh. Follow her on Twitter (@Daya), Facebook (@theofficialdaya), Instagram (@daya) and YouTube (http://bit.ly/1VQr6oW).
2. Wunderkind: Buzz has been quickly building about the rising pop star as one to watch. Daya was in the top five on Billboard's "21 Under 21" list and Rolling Stones' "10 New Artists You Need to Know" in 2016, and is the youngest featured in Forbes' "30 Under 30" list this year.
3. Gold and platinum: Her debut studio album "Sit Still, Look Pretty," released in October 2016 and on which she is a credited writer for half the songs, has officially certified gold (more than 500,000 U.S. album units sold) by the RIAA on Jan. 25. Meanwhile, her hits "Hide Away" and "Sit Still, Look Pretty" are double platinum (2 million units) and platinum (1 million units), respectively.

4. Grammy winner: Although Daya's debut album received decent reviews, and her sleeper hit, "Hide Away," eventually climbed into the top 25 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, it was her collaboration with The Chainsmokers, "Don't Let Me Down," that earned the most acclaim and award nominations. It also won for best dance recording during this year's 59th annual Grammy Awards.
5. Now on tour: Daya is currently on her first headlining tour, making its way to Edinboro University on Friday night. The tour continues through mid-August with stops in Pennsylvania, Kentucky (in time for the Kentucky Derby), the Bahamas, Indonesia and the Philippines, according to her official website.
