Bon Jovi at Madison Square Garden was Awesome!

If you wanted to define New Jersey, two names come to mind: Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen.

TAPinto Travels has had the pleasure of meeting and working with both and can vouch for their love of both the Garden State and greater New York area.

And so It was a homecoming of sorts for Bon Jovi on Saturday as he rocked Madison Square Garden.

It seems remarkable the amount of quality music he has created since emerging from obscurity in Sayreville, New Jersey. Recovering from a bout of bronchitis that forced him to push back the concert by a week, Bon Jovi paid homage to New Jersey and New York City, first with a video featuring images of both.  The best was the approach through the Holland Tunnel.  With that intro, the band came on and played hit after hit.

Jon Bon Jovi, Tico Torres, and David Bryan remain the heart of the band after 30 years. They are now joined by Phil X and Hugh McDonald.  It's sad to divulge our age, but we at TAPinto Travels think of Phil and McDonald as the new guys (sigh).

Speaking of age, Bon Jovi joked about it several times, displaying the genuine, honest nature we have come to know and admire.  However, if you take away the extra high hair, even at 55 the man seems to have not aged a day.

Bon Jovi not only pulled off a great show but, more importantly, made his state proud.

And he'll be back in exactly four months at En-Joie golf course in Endicott, N.Y.
