Cole Swindell is looking for the after party. The country artist sat down with Taste of Country Nights and shared his excitement for the ACM Awards, which will air live on CBS on April 2 at 8PM ET. He admits while he's excited about the show, he's also nervous and looking forward to celebrating afterward.

This year's show is being held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, where Swindell and a slew of other artists including Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley and more will perform. Awards co-host Bentley and Swindell are teaming for a joint performance of "Flatliner," Swindell's current single that features Bentley.

Swindell says repeatedly the awards show is a "big deal," and says the massive TV audience adds a newfound sense of nervousness for the performer.

"I don't know what to expect and that's the feeling that you want as an artist," says Swindell. "We get used to walking out onstage and doing things and you kind of get confident and nervous…. Usually millions of people aren't watching you, so it's a big deal."

When Swindell is done performing, he's ready to get his drink on. So, who's having the after party?

"I think Dierks is having an after deal maybe," Swindell says. "Somebody better be having an after party because I'm gonna be ready to just hang and have a drink. … It's like a big family reunion out there. We're all doing the same thing. We're all in this thing together but rarely are we ever in the same spot and get to hang and talk about just stuff that nobody else really understands, sometimes. That's what I'm looking forward to, just hanging and congratulating all my friends that won the awards and that were nominated."

Currently on tour with Bentley, Swindell is curious if the singer will make him co-host the after party, something Swindell seems up for. He also notes that though Bentley throws a good party, the singer knows when to dial it down.

"I've learned he has his nights he picks when he has fun," Swindell says. "I don't get but 45-50 minutes out there [onstage], so I can kind of do what I want. … He's playing for an hour and a half and I know as a singer that it's tough on you to go too wild every night. You kind of learn when you get older, you pick your nights."

Nonetheless, it's the safe to bet that after the ACM Awards, both singers will be going all out.
