Silver Dollar City, which opens March 15 for Spring Ride Days, is again hosting its Young Christians' Weekend, a three-day event that serves as a place where young people of all faiths, or little or no faith connection, can come together to be encouraged, entertained and inspired to find faith-based purpose, is set for March 31 through April 2.
In addition to the fun, faith and fellowship, the event will also feature some of the nation's top Christian recording artists, including the Museum, Building 429, and 6-time Dove Award winner and Grammy nominee Lauren Daigle. Things get started with a Friday evening kick-off concert featuring 7eventh Time Down.
The event, which began in 1975, stemmed from a vision of Silver Dollar City founders to share a mission of operating in a manner consistent with Christian values and ethics. Today, the Young Christians' Weekend is one of the longest-running and largest-attended events of its kind in the country with hundreds of thousands of visitors having attended. In fact, the park believes the event draws 15,000 attendees annually.
While the musical acts added to everything else there is to see and do at Silver Dollar City are big draws, this year's Young Christians' Weekend will also include workshops for youth and youth leaders. The workshops will be offered throughout the day on April 1, with topics including "Beauty N' Beastmode," "When Do I Become An Adult?," "Dangerous Christian, Feminine," and "Feisty and What's in a Name?"
