As crazy as the world is at times, we could all use a reminder to always count our blessings, and who better to do it this than Grammy award-winning rapper Lecrae. Watch him and Ty Dolla $ign enjoy a peaceful Sunday dinner with family and friends in the new video for his latest single, "Blessings."
The heartwarming video shows Lecrae and Ty$ reuniting with old friends and family members as they play outside with the kids — and eat a festive soul food dinner inside. It brings back those good old (or present) memories of Sunday dinner after church with the whole family for home cooking, dominoes, and fellowship with one another. His longtime collaborator Propaganda also makes a guest appearance as well.
In an interview with HipHopDX, Lecrae says he wanted to make a focused on the joy of family gatherings and the things many of us busy folks take for granted.
"For 'Blessings' we wanted to do a video that just kind of focused on everyday things we take for granted, family, gatherings, good food, good people, just God being the source of the simple things," he said. "Just a fun time, a good time, enjoying family, enjoying friends, enjoying people. It's like going to Big Mama's house and when you just got that feeling of nostalgia."
"Blessings" is the latest single from his forthcoming eighth solo album, which will be available in 2017.
